A simple design may be associated by some as a lack of sophistication but such is not the case with the Hana Katana from Dragon King. The Hana Katana embodies power, form and function in the simplest of accoutrements.
The blackened tsuba (guard), fuchi (collar) and fuchi-kashira (pommel) display falling cherry blossoms juxtaposed by the real white same (ray skin) under the black tsuka-ito (handle wrap) and accented by silver cherry blossom menuki (handle ornaments), habaki (blade collar) and seppa (spacers). The 27 1/2" forged steel blade's distinctive hamon (temper line) flows smoothly from kissaki (blade point) to the habaki. The blade is concealed in a textured, matte black saya with a buffalo horn kurikata (knob) and black sageo (cord).
The Hana Katana is a sword for the humble warrior who needs only to let the blade do the talking.
