OVERVIEW

Warning! These playing cards are so interesting you may lose track of the game. Each of the 52 standard cards features its own unique historical artifact from the Metropolitan Museum’s vast collection. This deck contains a wide range of paintings, sculptures, even ancient architecture and mechanical devices from all over the world. An engaging introduction to The Met collection, this deck features a handpicked selection of must-see works. Highlights include the stone Temple of Dendur (completed by 10 B.C.),  The Unicorn Rests in a Garden tapestry (1495–1505), a Yemeni astrolabe (ca. 1291), Hokusai’s The Great Wave (ca.1830–32), Winslow Homer’s painting Boys in a Dory (1873), among others. These are premium, 100% linen cards made in the USA. The deck comes with 2 Joker cards that contain information about the Metropolitan Museum’s collection and the Lingo/Met playing card series.
