The tempered, high carbon head of this hatchet has a 52º Rockwell hardness and is afixed to the hardwood shaft with steel pins. This axe was designed for the British Airforce so a downed pilot could cut himself out of a wrecked plane. It could function equally as a close-quarter weapon. Comes with a leather blade case.
